I’ve been up for an hour watching the new Kindle Fire HDX TV ads, reading hands-on reviews, and, of course, ordering a 7″ and an 8.9″ HDX. It’s past 1:30 a.m., so some sleep is very much in order. Before I head off to bed in hopes Claire won’t bark at me, thus waking up Darlene, I’ll drop links to the new 7″ tablets here with my Amazon Associates links.
Kindle Fire HDX 7″ 32 GB with special offers WiFi only – $269. (This is the one I ordered.)
So there won’t be a big press conference this fall, after all. Amazon briefed selected tech media reps prior to tonight’s release of the new lineup. I will admit to disappointment at not making the cut, but it’s understandable given the modest size of the TKC audience compared with, say, BloombergBusinessweek.
The good news is that these tablets are generating a great deal of praise and excitement in the early reviews, especially for the crazy-smart free Mayday video help. And I’m glad to see Cloud Collections on the horizon, announced but not yet available.
If I stop writing now, I can still be in bed by 2 a.m. Sweet dreams indeed!
